Come sempre sveglia di buon ora, colazione e trasferimento di un paio di ore, che dalle meraviglie di Page, Arizona, ci porta ad un altro sito incantevole: la Monument Valley

sempre in Arizona .La Monument Valley è una delle destinazioni più iconiche e affascinanti degli Stati Uniti, si trova nella riserva Navajo al confine tra gli stati dell’Arizona e dello Utah. Questo luogo straordinario è rinomato per i suoi maestosi paesaggi desertici, caratterizzati da imponenti formazioni rocciose che emergono dal terreno sabbioso come opere d’arte naturali. Una bellezza mozzafiato

.Le formazioni rocciose della Monument Valley sono il risultato di millenni di erosione causata dal vento, dall’acqua e dalle forze geologiche.
La visita prevede un “loop” di tutta l’area … noi lo abbiamo fatto due volte. Prima con la jeep e la guida Navajo che raccontano la storia e la geologia del territorio e poi con la nostra macchina perché davvero valeva la pena ripeterlo.

Nel primo pomeriggio ci rimettiamo in auto per la meta del giorno dopo ma facciamo una deviazione perché casualmente scopriamo che vicino Tube City esiste un sito con ritrovamenti di dinosauri: il Arizona Dinosaur Track. La Navajo Dinosaur Trackway si trova lungo l'autostrada 160 sulla riserva indiana Navajo vicino a Tuba City nel nord dell'Arizona. Questo sito ha uno dei più estesi set di tracce di dinosauri al mondo. I Navajo amichevoli offrono tour personali del sito gratuitamente, anche se è sia consuetudine che educato lasciare una mancia riconoscente. Gli artisti e gli artigiani Navajo mostrano le loro merci e le offrono ai prezzi più bassi che abbiamo visto ovunque nel sud-ovest. Stanchi ma felici e soddisfatti riprendiamo il nostro trasferimento…

As always, wake up early, have breakfast and transfer for a couple of hours, which from the wonders of Page, Arizona, takes us to another enchanting site: Monument Valley also in Arizona.

This extraordinary place is renowned for its majestic desert landscapes, characterized by towering rock formations that emerge from the sandy terrain like natural works of art. Breathtaking beauty .
.The rock formations of Monument Valley are the result of millennia of erosion caused by wind, water and geological forces. The visit includes a "loop" of the entire area... we did it twice. First with the jeep and the Navajo guide who tell the history and geology of the area and then with our car because it was really worth repeating.

In the early afternoon we get back in the car for the next day's destination but we make a detour because by chance we discover that near Tube City there is a site with dinosaur finds: the Arizona Dinosaur Track. The Navajo Dinosaur Trackway is located along Highway 160 on the Navajo Indian Reservation near Tuba City in northern Arizona. This site has one of the most extensive sets of dinosaur tracks in the world. Friendly Navajos offer personal tours of the site for free, although it is both customary and polite to leave a grateful tip. Navajo artists and craftsmen display their wares and offer them at the lowest prices we've seen anywhere in the Southwest. Tired but happy and satisfied we resume our transfer...
