Day 16

Secondo giorno a New York City, e come d’abitudine colazione in hotel e via di buon ora a scoprire la città

. Oggi giriamo in lungo e in largo partendo dalla vicina Time Square Manhattan

, dove restiamo immediatamente ipnotizzati dai cartelloni pubblicitari luminosissimi e coloratissimi. Proseguiamo verso Briant Park

, il mio parco preferito in assoluto

… bello, piccolo, racchiuso, curato e pulito in ogni angolo, verde e ben organizzato con i bagni pubblici più puliti che io abbia mai visto

. Passeggiando, arriviamo alla Grand Central Station, la stazione ferroviaria nel centro di Manhattan, molto curata, tutta in marmo, con molti chioschi per mangiare… Il nostro giro continua sulla Fifty avenue, arrivando così al Rockfeller Center

, imperioso, con fontane e giochi d’acqua al suo ingresso e la famosissima pista di pattinaggio nella sua piazza

. Di fronte vediamo la St. Patrick's Cathedral

bellissima e vederla in pieno centro, sulla una delle strade più famose fa un certo effetto. Questa volta saltiamo in metro per dirigerci verso sud, a Ground Zero 9/11 Memorial

. La metro ci lascia nella stazione metro di The Oculus at Westfield World Trade Center, progettata da Calatrava come simbolo di rinascita dopo l’11/09. Spettacolare struttura… Girovaghiamo tra le torri nuove, le vasche/fontane dove c’erano le Torri Gemelle

e in un silenzio assordante generale visitiamo quest’area in lungo e in largo.

Pausa pranzo take away in uno dei tanti chioschi tipici americani e con Uber ci spostiamo nella zona nuova di Hudson Yards dove sono stati costruiti negli ultimi anni edifici come The Vessel - Hudson Yards, The Edge, Hudson Yards un grattacielo con un osservatorio pazzesco

Con molta calma e godendoci la città decidiamo di rientrare lentamente a piedi verso il nostro Hotel vicino Bryant Park.

Risistemati e ricaricati si va a cena… ci attende la famosa bistecca di Nurs-Et New York

Day 16

Second day in New York City, and as usual breakfast at the hotel and off early to discover the city

. Today we travel far and wide starting from nearby Time Square Manhattan

, where we are immediately hypnotized by the bright and colorful advertising billboards. We continue towards Briant Park

, my absolute favorite park

... beautiful, small, enclosed, well-kept and clean in every corner, green and well organized with the cleanest public toilets I've ever seen

. Walking, we arrive at Grand Central Station, the train station in the center of Manhattan, very well-kept, all in marble, with many kiosks for eating... Our tour continues on Fifty Avenue, thus arriving at the Rockefeller Center

, imperious, with fountains and games of water at its entrance and the very famous skating rink in its square

. In front we see St. Patrick's Cathedral

beautiful and seeing it right in the center, on one of the most famous streets has a certain effect. This time we jump on the subway to head south, to Ground Zero 9/11 Memorial

. The metro leaves us at The Oculus at Westfield World Trade Center metro station, designed by Calatrava as a symbol of rebirth after 9/11. Spectacular structure... We wander among the new towers, the basins/fountains where the Twin Towers were

and in a general deafening silence we visit this area far and wide.

Take away lunch break in one of the many typical American kiosks and with Uber we move to the new area of Hudson Yards where buildings such as The Vessel - Hudson Yards, The Edge, Hudson Yards, a skyscraper with a crazy observatory have been built in recent years

With very calm and enjoying the city we decide to slowly walk back to our hotel near Bryant Park.

Once settled and recharged we go to dinner... the famous Nurs-Et New York steak awaits us
