Budapest Day 3 – Zoe & Zak Trip

Ultimo giorno a Budapest di questo fantastico weekend con gli amici.

Ancora una volta questa città ci sorprende partendo dal meteo fenomenale che ci permette di far visita alle più belle terme mai visitate, i Bagni Széchenyi risalenti a prima del 1900 e ad oggi il piu grande centro termale d’Europa

. Dopo questa bella mattinata di relax riprendiamo i nostri ultimi giri :

- Monumento dell’occupazione Sovietica;

- Le Scarpe sulla Eiva del Danubio, un memoriale all’olocausto davvero toccante sul lato di Pest. Quelle scarpe ricordano le vittime di uno dei tanti crimini compiuto tra il 44 e il 45 dalle Croci frecciate. Gli ebrei che si salvavano da fame e torture nel ghetto venivano radunati lungo la sponda. Li legavano in gruppi di tre e venivano buttati con un peso nel Danubio

- visita alla Grande Sinagoga Ebraica , il suo Tempio degli Eroi, il cimitero ed il Museo Memoriale Ebraico. La Grande Sinagoga è la più grande in Europa e la seconda al Mondo con più di 3000 posti

. I posti a sedere per gli uomini si trovano al piano terra, mentre i posti per le donne sono situati nella galleria superiore; il Memoriale davvero toccante nel giardino assomiglia a un salice piangente sulle cui foglie sono iscritti i nomi delle vittime dell’olocausto di fede ebraica;

- Basilica di Santo Stefano la basilica cattolica situata nel centro di Budapest, a Pest

Alla pari con il Palazzo del Parlamento ungherese, è uno dei due edifici più alti di Budapest. Questa parità simboleggiava ai tempi l’uguaglianza fra l’importanza del potere laico e del potere spirituale in città.

Last day in Budapest of this fantastic weekend with friends.

Once again this city surprises us starting from the phenomenal weather which allows us to visit the most beautiful spas we have ever visited, the Széchenyi Baths dating back to before 1900 and today the largest spa center in Europe

. After this beautiful morning of relaxation we continue our last tours:

- Monument of the Soviet occupation;

- The Shoes on the Danube Eva, a truly touching Holocaust memorial on the Pest side. Those shoes remember the victims of one of the many crimes committed between 1944 and 1945 by the Arrow Cross. Jews who were saved from starvation and torture in the ghetto were gathered along the bank. They tied them in groups of three and were thrown with a weight into the Danube

- visit to the Great Jewish Synagogue, its Temple of Heroes, the cemetery and the Jewish Memorial Museum. The Great Synagogue is the largest in Europe and the second in the world with more than 3000 seats

. Seating for men is located on the ground floor, while seating for women is located in the upper gallery; the truly touching Memorial in the garden resembles a weeping willow on whose leaves are inscribed the names of the Jewish victims of the Holocaust;

- St. Stephen's Basilica the Catholic basilica located in the center of Budapest, in Pest

On a par with the Hungarian Parliament Building, it is one of the two tallest buildings in Budapest. This parity symbolized at the time the equality between the importance of secular power and spiritual power in the city.
