Abbandoniamo per un giorno la tipica colazione “americana” e dalla vicina Bakery facciamo scorta di croissant di ogni genere per mangiarli in sala colazioni dell’hotel sotto gli occhi stupiti delle persone che si chiedevano in quale angolo del buffet avessimo trovato quel “tesoro”. Carichi di calorie ci dirigiamo alla scoperta del Field Museum , il famosissimo Museo di Storia Naturale.

4,6 miliardi di anni in un unico luogo, alla scoperta dei confini più remoti di questo incredibile pianeta su cui viviamo. Qui abbiamo avuto la possibilità e fortuna di poter vedere Máximo the Titanosaur, il più grande dinosauro mai scoperto ;

sperimentare SUE, il Tyrannosaurus rex più completo e meglio conservato . Oltre a tante altre mostre ben organizzate e complete sull’Egitto e le sue tombe… sulla storia e cultura Cinese. Insomma una bella scoperta questo museo che non ha assolutamente annoiato né noi né i ragazzi. Visto il clima “mite”… -14 decidiamo nel pomeriggio di uscire all’aria aperta e di fare anche altro…il tempo stringe e vogliamo perderci il meno possibile In attesa di Lyft ci godiamo un fantastico tramonto tra i grattacieli che ci lascia a bocche aperte. Arriviamo così a destinazione: Maggie Daley Park nella speranza di riuscire a pattinare sul ghiaccio. E finalmente dopo un paio di giorni di tentativi (la pista era full ) ci riusciamo Tutti e 4 ci godiamo 2 ore di quella che è stata per noi la più bella pista di pattinaggio mai vista e provata fin ora (seguirà un post dedicato) con 2 slot dove poter consumare bibite calde e snack per riposarsi un po’ Davvero spettacolare

Distrutti da una giornata intensa rientriamo a piedi percorrendo il Magnificient Mile-N Michigan Ave…

Ah…. Ore 19… non abbiamo resistito alla tentazione di Eataly Chicago a due passi dal nostro hotel così disdiciamo al volo il ristorante prenotato e ci tuffiamo su pizza napoletana e gnocchi alla sorrentina come se non ci fosse un domani

Day 7

We abandon the typical “American” breakfast for a day and from the nearby Bakery we stock up on croissants of all kinds to eat them in the hotel breakfast room under the astonished eyes of the people who wondered in which corner of the buffet we had found that “treasure”. Loaded with calories we head to discover the Field Museum, the very famous Museum of Natural History.

4.6 billion years in one place, to discover the most remote borders of this incredible planet on which we live. Here we had the opportunity and fortune to be able to see Máximo the Titanosaur, the largest dinosaur ever discovered ;

experience SUE, the most complete and best preserved Tyrannosaurus rex . In addition to many other well-organized and complete exhibitions on Egypt and its tombs... on Chinese history and culture. In short, this museum was a great discovery that did not bore us or the kids at all. Given the "mild" weather... -14 we decided to go out in the open air in the afternoon and do something else... time was running out and we wanted to get lost as little as possible While waiting for Lyft we enjoyed a fantastic sunset among the skyscrapers that left us speechless. We thus arrived at our destination: Maggie Daley Park in the hope of being able to go ice skating. And finally after a couple of days of trying (the rink was full) we did it All 4 of us enjoyed 2 hours of what was for us the most beautiful skating rink ever seen and tried so far (a dedicated post will follow) with 2 slots where you can consume hot drinks and snacks to rest a bit Truly spectacular

Destroyed by an intense day we return on foot along the Magnificient Mile-N Michigan Ave…

Ah…. 7 pm… we couldn't resist the temptation of Eataly Chicago a stone's throw from our hotel so we quickly canceled the booked restaurant and dived into Neapolitan pizza and gnocchi alla sorrentina as if there wasn't a tomorrow
